No more neutrality on the Internet, what does it mean?
I'm sure theese last days you've been listening about this new EEUU's law that will give more decision power to big ICT's enterprises to decide which quality of service they give to their customers.
Briefly that means that, each company, will decide according to the fee that each user pays, which service they recieve. So EEUU is allowing the creation of two speeds Internet, two kind of services depending on the money that you pay for it.
The Internet is suposed to be a global and neutral service, that allows everybody to get advangtage from it independently on where they come from. So this new law will create more differences between rich and poor, urban and rural, north and south, and will contribute to make bigger the Digital Divide.
I promise you to make a new post talking more about this concept, Digital Divide, but by now, i just leave here those opinion reports talking about this new law and its consequences.
